單股毛線擰成的中細 , 合太 , 並太 , 極太毛線
These yarns are mill twisted and steam set for us (to give a balanced yarn), starting from assorted high quality 100% cashmere singles yarns, mostly from Johnstons or other top UK spinners. Many of the singles were meant for weaving so have a higher twist level, and therefore in general even after washing they give a slightly tougher yarn than the very soft and fluffy 2/7NM, but last well in wear (which will give additional softness and bloom) and give crisper stitch definition... there are additional notes on some of the individual items, for example where double twisting gives a softer feel..
The 1/3.5NM yarns have a similar feel, but are single strand yarns spun by top UK mills, with a great crinkly texture. As singles yarns the 1/3.5 yarns do have a bit of residual twist..
The 1/4NM yarns are also singles, but soft-spun, slubby, steam-set ones ... they were originally meant for weaving thick scarves, with a very atractive texture, softer than the other yarns in this section though still not our softest cashmeres.. they are actually called "HandSpun" or HS yarns though they are mill spun then dyed in a "cottage industry" type operation... it should be said that some customers think they give a fascinating rustic fabric but some just think they are difficult to knit with...
